Eaton expands power quality business with new low-power systems division
Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton has acquired Schneider Electric’s MGE low-power systems business, a move that not only expands its global power quality business but also catapults it into the world’s second largest power protection solution. supplier.
Eaton completed the acquisition of MGE ‘s low-power system business called MGE Office Protection Systems on November 1 for a total price of 425 million euros (USD 607 million at the current exchange rate) .
“This move is exciting news for Eaton and MGE Office Protection Systems customers,” said Tom Gross, vice president and president of power quality and control operations for Eaton Electric Group .

MGE Office Protection Systems has approximately 750 employees worldwide and has offices in more than 40 countries, with customers in more than 60 countries.
The products of MGE Office Protection System consist of single-phase UPS and surge suppressors. The products are used to solve the needs of power protection , power distribution and power management in the office, network and industrial markets. Distribution channels include mainstream information technology (IT), data communications, electrical and industrial distributors, and IT/telecom original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
